Recreational Gymnastics
Girls Gymnastics Level 1
Approximate age: 4 years old to 13 years old
This is a fun recreational class designed to learn and introduce the basic building blocks of gymnastics and beginning progressions. This is closely tracked for each individual gymnast on their own progression chart! The USAG Level 1 skills and progressions are taught on each event as well. All four events are taught (beam, uneven bars, floor and vault) plus trampoline and tumble track. Girls are divided into age appropriate classes. This is a one hour class. The class begins with a five minute warm up and a ten minute time for stretching and flexibility. At the end of class, gymnasts receive positive reinforcement and praise, along with a short time of prayer.
Girls Gymnastics Level 2
Approximate age: 5 years old to 13 years old
This is an INVITE ONLY class. This class is a bridge between the Level 1 and 3 programs. Skills become more difficult and more focus is put on strength and flexibility in a fun environment. The USAG Level 2 skills and progressions are taught on each event and tracked individually on each gymnast’s own personal progression chart! All four events are taught (beam, uneven bars, floor and vault) plus trampoline and tumble track. Greater attention is put on form and technique. Girls are divided into age appropriate classes. This is a one hour class. The class begins with a five minute warm up and a ten minute time for stretching and flexibility. At the end of class, gymnasts receive positive reinforcement and praise, along with a short time of prayer.

PARENT-TOT & PRESCHOOL GYMNASTICS
Parent - Tot
Approximate age: 18 months to 3 years old
This program is a parent accompanied class. This class combines fun activities along with age appropriate skills. Children will have the opportunity to experience a wide range of gross motor activities while being introduced to the sport of gymnastics. Class begins with an inviting warm up with activities including music crawling, and hanging. Each class will provide a new experience with the obstacle course including; trampolines, balance beams, bars, and vault along with many other gross motor activities that are designed to develop coordination, strength and body awareness. At the end of class, gymnasts receive positive reinforcement and praise, along with a short time of prayer.
Preschool 1
Approximate age: 2.5 years old to 4 years old
This is a blended style class for preschoolers working towards independence. Light parent involvement allowed. Class begins with a lively warm up with activities including music, climbing, swinging and jumping. Gymnasts will learn new skills on the obstacle course using equipment representing the Olympic events. Gymnasts will experience many different gross motor activities along with introductory gymnastics skills such as forward rolls, handstands, uneven bars and trampoline activities. This class is taught in a fun and creative way to encourage a healthier mental, physical and emotional lifestyle for the participants. At the end of the class, gymnasts receive positive reinforcement and praise, along with a short time of prayer.
Preschool 2
Approximate age: 3 years old to 5 years old
This is a fully independent Preschool class with no parent involvement. Class begins with an exciting warm up with activities with music and fun stretches. This class will continue to work on gross motor coordination through the use of gymnastics equipment and skills. Gymnasts will learn new skills on the obstacle course using equipment representing the Olympic events. Gymnasts will continue learning skills from the preschool class as well as gymnastics skills such as backward rolls, cartwheels, balance beams, vault and much more. At the end of class, gymnasts receive positive reinforcement and praise, along with a short time of prayer.

Competitive Coaches
Coach Rebecca and Josh are blessed to be part of the ownership of Element Gymnastics & sports center. They have been married going on 10 years and have 4 beautiful children JJ, Jackson, Nalani, and Jett. Rebecca and Josh met at Liberty University and have a passion for athletics. Rebecca grew up playing lacrosse and field hockey and has a passion for teaching girls a healthy view of body image and their identity in Christ through a healthy lifestyle.
Coach Josh grew up playing baseball and competed gymnastics. Both USAG certified they have a passion of instilling the values of the gym for athletes to Embrace their Element and Live their Passion by creating a safe space for athletes to come train and grow in their Element in a Christ first gym!
Hello my name is Brandin Hoeckel!
5 time state champion coach since 2015 to 2020.
Coached all levels from men’s elite team level 10 to women’s level 10.
Been on the Mens North Carolina elite team coaching staff for 3 years in a row.
In 2019 - 2020 season voted by all 22 North Carolina men’s programs USAG North Carolina Men’s Coach of the Year.
Focused on preparing every gymnast in front of me to the best of their ability that they can become and that is my goal.

Let's get to the grind!
Luke started gymmastics when he was 3 and was a Level 10 gymnast. He competed for Temple University Club Gymnastics and NC
State Club Gymnastics in grad school while he obtained his master's in architecture. He has coached all levels of gymnastics and first started coaching when Nick's was in the two-car garage on Powhatan Road. He's an Architectural Associate by day and gymnastics coach by night. Coach Kristin began gymnastics at the age of four. She started competing on Xcel in 2014 soon after the program started. During her time in college she was competing on both Xcel and NAIGC while completing her BFA in Graphic Design and her BS in Studio Art. She was a member of JMU’s Club Gymnastics and received an award for Gymnast of the Semester in 2021 and also practiced with the Oxford University Gymnastics Club during her study abroad at the University of Oxford in England. Kristin has been coaching for over ten years and has a goal to instill a strong and growth mindset for all athletes while sharing her passion for the creative and artistic freedom of the sport.

“Coach Laura comes to us from Artistic Gymnastics, where she was the Gym Manager and Recreational Lead Coach. She has an extensive background in various parts of the childcare industry. Her love of gymnastics began when her youngest daughter started 10 years ago. You will see her coaching mainly in the Parent Tot and Preschool classes, but also coaches Level 1 all the way through to Team at times. Her favorite things are Jesus, Star Wars, coffee, and the Oxford Comma.”

Coach Jill
Lead Level 2 and 3 Girls Gymnastics Coach
“Coach Jill was a level 8 competitive gymnast throughout high-school. She has been coaching the competitive team here at Element (formally Nick’s Flippin Kids) for 14 years. She started working for Nick’s Flippin Kids 3 months after they opened for business. Currently she is the Lead Coach in the level 2 and 3 recreational girls department. Coach Jill is a fantastic coach and great mentor to many of our CIT’s here at Element in the Recreational department.”

“Coach Kelli has a love for children. As a preschool teacher and a preschool coach, she spends all her time with little ones. She found a love for gymnastics at a young age and now enjoys sharing it as a coach and mother of two. Her goal is to instill confidence in little minds and spread the love of Jesus. Coach Kelli is a bright spark here at Element!”

“Coach Sydney was born in Nanning, China and adopted at 13 months old. Since the age of 11, she has been a competitive gymnast. In order to take her experience to the next level, she became a USAG certified gymnastics coach in August, 2022. She is currently a senior in high school and hopes to continue her gymnastics career as a coach for competitive gymnastics and tumbling following graduation. Being a gymnast has taught her discipline, accountability, and perseverance. Gymnastics has made her the person she is today, and she can’t wait to help your gymnasts achieve their goals here at Element Gymnastics & Sports Center!”

“Coach Lexi has been doing gymnastics for almost 10 years now. She has competed up to Gold on the gymnastics competition team. She can currently be found competing with our fantastic competitive Cheer Team (go Silver Storm!) here at Element. She has a vast love for preschoolers and enjoys not only sharing her love of gymnastics with them, but also her gentle, caring spirit. Coach Lexi works mainly in our Preschool and Parent Tot classes, but can also be seen assisting other coaches in Level 1-3 if needed. She is a great asset to our team and shares God’s love everywhere she goes.”

“Coach Maddie is a Junior at Clayton High School. She has done gymnastics since she was two years old and has always loved working with kids! Coach Maddie is spunky, caring and attentive.
